The Valefar boy tricked Ivy Taylor into kissing him, but he took much more than a kiss - he stole her soul and left her within inches of death. By surviving, Ivy is drawn into the conflict between the Martis and the Valefar. The war between these two immortal forces has raged for millennia without distraction. Until now.

Ivy is an anomaly-she is the only person who has ever walked away from a demon kiss alive. Her survival gives her unique and deadly abilities. Too powerful to ignore, Ivy is a threat to both armies. These two ancient enemies will stop at nothing to kill the seventeen-year-old.

Surviving is nothing new for headstrong Ivy, but her survival has never depended on another person before. This time it does. And if she misplaces her trust, she's dead. To her horror, she starts falling in love at the worst possible time-with the enemy. He appears to be protecting her. But she can't be certain if he is trying to help her, or help himself to her power. For Ivy, trusting the right person is the difference between love and survival, or a deadly demon kiss.

[Summary taken from GoodReads] [AMAZON]

I am always in the mood for a good demon story. You have all those books on demons, like The Mortal Instrument Series, and I find them to be the same. Most of the time not all of the time. Now Demon Kissed is definitely a species in its own. Demon Kissed is told in an exciting way, and in a new.

The earth has been at war with itself for quite some time and it is because of two species that inhabit the earth: The Valefar and the Martis. The Valefar are you demons. All scary with power and they are run by the king of the underworld, Kreturus. Valefar have one mission in life and that is to destroy earth and steal kisses of course. Valefar have this ability to sense the souls in others and they suck them out with a kiss. Along with the ability to disappear leaving behind some smoke and conjure dark orbs

The Martis, are like the angels. They are the light like the Valefar are the dark. Martis can essentially do what the Valefar can expect that their orbs are for healing and they can not go from place to place.
Each are fast and strong and both have a mission to complete find the Prophesied One.

Ivy thought that she was on a normal date with a normal guy. Until she was given a deadly kiss that made her feel as if she was missing part of her. Waking up Ivy finds a purple mark on her head. While sitting up in an old attic Ivy stumbles across an old painting. There is fighting going and there was a written word: Valefar. Along with a look-a-like of her and that look-a-like trying to pull someone off a cliff.

I personally liked Ivy. She is a strong girl for finding out that she is Martis. Well sort of, the Martis have blue marks and Ivy a blue. Just like the Valefar have a red scar. Unfortunately Ivy is the prophesied one. The one who is destined to destroy earth and all the good in the world. What a great thing to find out from one's bestfriend.

There are two boys in Ivy's life each with their own secrets: Eric and Connor. Both of who she thought she could trust. Well nothing says better than trust than finding out that one is a demon and the other is destined to kill her. It also doesn't help that she is falling deeply in love with one either.  What bad timing!

The character's kept me wrapped up all the way to the last page. Along with the story line. I loved the author's plot and definitely felt like she put a lot of thought into the background story. I guess my only problem with Demon Kissed was I felt like something was missing. I really don't know what but it was something missing. Also at times I felt like everything was going a little to fast!

All in all this book is great! I do recommend it to all of you.

Read on my peeps!
