Feature & Follow Friday

Alison Can Read Feature & Follow

Question of the Week: Do you have a go to genre when you're happy, sad, or angry? - Suggested by Take Me Away...

Yep I do I have many genres in fact, when I am in the happy mood I tend to go for more romances. The more the love the better, the book I tend to go to the most for that one is Wake unto me by Lisa Cach. While it is not the best written, the romance is too cute to pass up. When I am sad, I tend to read books that will brighten my mood like: Eragon (Idk why it just makes me happy) or one of the Lux Series by Jennifer Armentrout. When I am angry I usually am in a assassin mood so I would probably go to a fantasy genre like: Poison Study or Throne of Glass.

I tend to base my reads on what I am feeling at the moment :)

What about you guys!

Do you decide in advance what you read for the coming week or month? Why / why not? - Suggested by Unconventional Book Views

Haha oh goodness half the time yes, half the time no. If I am currently reading a series than I will plan to pick up the next book. As for the next coming month, definitely. If I am sent ARC's or books to review I need to prioritize around those books first. But other than that I tend to read what is ever in my TBR pile. I just saw the cutest thing ever - a TBR JAR!! Maybe some of you knew about it! I am planning on doing that so I actually have a solid plan for the next months to come.

 What do you do?

Also you can follow on twitter and facebook!! I would love those too!

Feature and Follow Friday: Co-blogger Ad!

Alison Can Read Feature & Follow

Hosted by Alison Can Read and Parajunkee

Question of the Week: Create an ad listing all the qualities and qualifications of your perfect co-blogger

Hmm, I never really thought of having a co-blogger. I would like my co-blogger to be super energetic, I love energetic people and I want them to be full of energy and able to get reviews done when I am to lazy to do them myself! Because I tend to have no energy at the end of the day, after studying and classes.

As for qualifications. I would like someone who has good grammar and spelling. I would want someone that uses not big words but flamboyant words!!

I guess that is my co-blogger ad, what would you guys put on your ad?

Question of the Week: Craziest thing you'd be willing to do for an ARC you are dying to read (aka what would you doooo-ooo for that ARC you want? *think of the Klondike Bar music*) - Suggested by

Haha oh goodness, I would do a lot, yet not a lot. The devil on my shoulder is saying wait outside the publishing building and snag down the publisher of that book and be like I would like this book please!! The angel is telling me to be patient and wait for that email saying if I get it or not..but...I still feel like I would pull a mission impossible stunt to get the book >.< I love me my books!! I could just see myself scaling down the side of a skyscraper!!

What would you do?

What books would you give to newbies in your favorite genre? (Ex. I'm a newbie to high fantasy and EVERYONE said to ease into it with the Throne of Glass series!) - Suggested by Take Me Away...

Oh goodness, I could suggest a lot. I think that I would definitely recommend the Harry Potter Series to get into the Fantasy Realm, I have yet to come across a person who does not like this series.

I would also pick Night World Series to get into the Paranormal Romance books, those were one of the first paranormal romance books I picked up. Or I would pick  I would pick the Blue Bloods series.

Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants I would pick for under the contemporary genre. I liked these books and I think they are a good start into the contemporary world!!

What about you?

Happy All Hollows Eve and Halloween and any other version of Halloween that there is!!!!

Question of the Week: Characters, sometimes our favorites, die during books. If you'd get to choose, who would you bring back? - Suggested by Howling for Books

Oh goodness a lot of them actually. The first, which is the one I feel many will choose, is Tris. I am just so sad and frustrated, that ending people!!! I want her back so badly! Another I would want back is Prim, Katniss already had to deal with so much, her sister's death was not needed at all! Now I feel like I need to read a book that is super cheesy and romantic, with a really good ending :)

 What about you guys?

Question of the Week: Book character(s) you'd like to see with their own Twitter page?

I would love to see either Celeana (Throne of Glass) or Daemon (Lux Series). Celeana because her tweets would be really interesting. Like really interesting, all I can think of is this assassin giving off tweets about her missions!! Then there is Daemon, I honestly would love to see what picture he would do for a profile pic. Along with his very sarcastic tweets, I would enjoy this very much!!

What about you guys who would you pick?!

Question of the week: Blogger Pet Peeves

I actually have a few. One is when I go through and write a review and then publish it, but then I realize that I did not italicize the book name. For some people this is fine, but for me it drives me up that invisible wall. Another thing is the scheduled posts, there are days where I log into blogger and it shows that the post that was scheduled to post never fricken posted!!! Come on, I did all that work to give it a specific time and nothing.

What about you guys?

My challenge for 100 followers is coming along really well, I am so so close to 100 followers! I also can't wait to do the giveaway!

Before blogging how would you find out about new books or did you? - Suggested by A Great Read

Well, I grew up where most of my friends did not actually read, except for one. Most of my friends would make fun of me for bringing a book to school for fun - *gasp* the horrors - and call me a geek or a nerd. My best-friend, actually read to but she did not read what I read. So how I found out about new books was whenever we went shopping my first stop, and the remainder of where I would be for that shopping trip, was the bookstore. I would literally sit on the floor and read all those books. I would get glares from the clerks! Also right around when I was thirteen I discovered GoodReads, which was the greatest day of my life. It is a website all on books, and it amazed me. I also would ask my older sister on what was going on in the book world. There was one time I was on a plane and this lady saw me reading, I think twilight or another big book, and she would tell me what books I would love. Unfortunately, it took me a lot longer to find out about the new books than I do now.
Also when I went to the cities and there was a Barnes and Noble, my home away from home, I would sit there for hours - in the middle of the aisle - digging my way through the books.

What about you guys, how did you find out about new books?

So I gave myself a challenge/goal: I want to grow my blog to 100 followers in the next few months. I know it is a long shot but it is a goal I am going to work towards :). I also will be doing a giveaway at the end of my goal/challenge :)

Feauture and Follow Friday: Are You a Writer?

Alison Can Read Feature & Follow

Hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read

Question of the Week: Are you also a writer and what genre or did you ever consider writing?

Although I would love to be a writer, I really do not want to be published. In middle school and high school I always loved to make up my own stories. Which were usually fictional and a paranormal romance. I just would not want to be published. I also need to be really bored for me to break out my pencil to make a quick sketch of the outline of my stories. Also, I would not want the pressure of a dead line for a book over my head. I will let writing be a dream job if anything!

Question of the Week: Tell us about a book character you’d trade places with.

Hehe, this could not be a better question for me!! So I would love to switch places with Katy in the Lux Series. I love her attitude and the main reason is because of Daemon...sigh....I honestly just loved this series as a whole and would love to live in this book forever.

Also guys I have a giveaway going on so go check it our: Book Giveaway

If you guys could spread the word that would be great!!

What book/series would make a better TV Show than a Movie?

I honestly think the House of Night series would make a great Tv show rather than a movie. There are so many books and the plot line could be flexible enough where it would work. It is also a vampire series so I think it can be pulled off. It would be a drama and thriller, I think. There could be a lot of potential with this series.

My second choice would be the Blue Blood Series. The story line is amazing there are so many parts of it where it could extended long enough for it to be a series. It is another weird vampire series so it could work. It also contains a lot of drama which would draw quite a few viewers in.
