You know those books that you can't put down because they constantly have your heart racing and you are dying to read the next page because it could mean either life or death - in the literal sense. Well that was how I felt through every page of this magical bind up of A Court of Thorns and Roses. To top it off just the other day I found out that this is going to be a series!! A fricken series! Sarah J. Maas is my idol and I hope to follow in her footsteps one day as a writer.

I find my favorite authors every once and awhile but once I picked up a Sarah J. Maas book, my heart stopped working! Her writing is beyond exquisite and it is shown in A Court of Thorn and Roses. She has taken Beauty and the Beast and has created such a detailed story that I could see it as if the plot was being played out right in front of me.

Feyre (pronounced: Fey-ruh) who has given an unbreakable promise to her mother is struggling to survive and take care of her family. A family that once had a great name and great money. A family that does give a rats ass if Feyre returns home alive - but her promise is written in stone. In the midst of trying to survive another winter Feyre does the unthinkable and kills a wolf - a wolf truly to large to be a wolf in the first place. With that one action Feyre has set off a trip affect - each dominoe falling into place.

Coming to collect retribution for the dead wolf is a beast like no other. Feyre has a choice to either have her family be murdered along with her or to be taken beyond the wall to the land of Prythian (pronounced: Prith-ee-en). Then Feyre not only finds out her capture - Tamlin - is not only an elf but someone of great power. Although Feyre would love to escape her imprisonment she can not help but be drawn to this powerful, sexy man!

Feyre at the very first sentence became a character that I could instantly connect to. I always have my favorite characters in each book and usually it's only one but I could not just pick one character has my favorite as there are three that have captured my heart. But Feyre was the top because of her strong personality and her heart to help her family survive - even if they are not the most selfless family members. While reading the interactions between Feyre and her sisters I could not help but think of Cinderella - just the whole situation screamed evil sisters! How she was able to keep a promise was beyond me - I would have let them fend for themselves if I had my way.

Of course then there is the fae's - Tamlin and Lucien. I fell in love with the brooding, dark, and sexy Tamlin instantly there was something different about him and it wasn't the mask that was fovever stuck to his face. No it was his passion and his strong personality that made him become my next book boyfriend! Lucien also became a favorite of mine as he reminded me of an annoying big brother with a swinging temper. Feyre, Tamlin, and Lucien - in my eyes - fit so perfectly together as characters and to read the development between each of them was astounding.

Of course the plot also made me fall hard for this fairytale retelling. The idea of this dark shadow crossing the Fairy world and even the background story between human and Fairy kept me at the edge of my seat. The book was dark and sexy throughout and I enjoyed every minute of it. To find out that this is being made into a series has just made me love the author and this book so much more.

If you have not read any Sarah J. Maas books or even A Court of Thorn and Roses you are missing out on some of the best literature ever written.
Two years ago, the aliens made contact. Now Cara Sweeney is going to be sharing a bathroom with one of them.

Handpicked
to host the first-ever L’eihr exchange student, Cara thinks her future
is set. Not only does she get a free ride to her dream college, she’ll
have inside information about the mysterious L’eihrs that every
journalist would kill for. Cara’s blog following is about to skyrocket.

Still,
Cara isn’t sure what to think when she meets Aelyx. Humans and L’eihrs
have nearly identical DNA, but cold, infuriatingly brilliant Aelyx
couldn’t seem more alien. She’s certain about one thing, though: no
human boy is this good-looking.

But when Cara's classmates get
swept up by anti-L'eihr paranoia, Midtown High School suddenly isn't
safe anymore. Threatening notes appear in Cara's locker, and a police
officer has to escort her and Aelyx to class.

Cara finds support
in the last person she expected. She realizes that Aelyx isn’t just her
only friend; she's fallen hard for him. But Aelyx has been hiding the
truth about the purpose of his exchange, and its potentially deadly
consequences. Soon Cara will be in for the fight of her life—not just
for herself and the boy she loves, but for the future of her planet.
Since the Lux Series I have always been in a alien invasion/alien-human romance story. I don't know what it is about those extraterrestrial beings and the whole idea of them coming to earth...or even the idea of them already being on earth fascinates and astounds me. I guess that is why I could not help but pick up Alienated by Melissa Landers. I tried not to get my hopes to high with this book and compare it to the Lux Series, as I did not want to be disappointed. However, I was far from disappointed.

The first few pages of Alienated were hard for me to get through and I really don't know why. At first Cara was not my favorite character...actually at the beginning she was by far my least favorite character. She was snooty, was the leader of every school club that existed, and was with a jock of a boyfriend. Yah...reminded me way too much of those awful highschool days. Of course, the book is based off highschool and a foreign...okay like another planet foreign exchange student named Aelyx.

It was after reading the first hundred pages, or so, that I truly got a feel for the characters and not just Aelyx and his crew but of Cara as well. I started to understand why Cara was the way she was and I actually started to connect to the character on a better level then what I started with. Cara - while is a very intellectual being - is very down to earth and protective of her beliefs. She is a believer that one day things will be perfect between the L'eihrs and the humans.

Of course, since Cara was also a blogger it just gave me one more reason to actually like her. Us bloggers got to stick together!

The relationship development between Cara and Aelyx, while slow, was very interesting to read. It was not too fast - like in most books - in fact she particularly did not even want to host one of the first alien exchange students. So their relationship was definitely rock at the beginning. However, that did not stop her from wanting to make Aelyx feel like he was at home and neither did the rest of her family.

Another huge love for this book was the family dynamics. Especially the parent's of Cara. They are the most awesome parent couple's I have ever read. They aren't those strict parent's that you read about nor are the broken family. Let's just say those two are very touchy feelie! It was too funny to read.

I loved reading the difference between humans and L'eihrs. Especially on a neurological level - the difference in the brain structure was magnificant to read. Melissa Landers definitely made sure to give such distinct characteristics between the two to make them very much so human and alien. I also loved the fact that Alienated kind of takes place in a futuristic time period. But it is not by 100 years it would be more like 15-20 years from 2015. The population over growth and environment issues escalating to mass extremes.

All in all this was a fast pace, cute, and down right scrumptious read. Yes, there were a few problems that I had here and there but that will not stop me from picking up the next book!
You know those series that you are scared to finish, because then they just end. There will be no more of them so you let the book sit and collect dust on your night stand. Well that is how I felt about The Queen of Zombiehearts! I was soo scared to finish this book because that meant the series would be over...however, I couldn't not finish this beautifully crafted world.

Gena Showalter has created an eccentric world filled with bad-ass characters, zombies, and romance that is full of sexiness!

In Through the Zombie Glass, we are left with a Alice growing in power and understanding of the world. I found it truly interesting how Alice kind of got darker through the series. Not dark as in the sense of evil, but the dark as in she has gone through a lot of shit and just won't put up with anything any more, especially Cole's issues. She has proven her love over and over again to each character that has been introduced. Her undying loyalty to each and every one of her friends, especially Kat, is there to a fault.

They are her new family.

In The Queen of Zombie Hearts, we are introduced to a new evil and a new power (revealed through Alice) and we are also given a huge HUGE dose of the past, where dark secrets are revealed. The plot was given in a very detailed manner, and there was no room left for guessing as there were to many things that could possibly happen!

I think my biggest love was watching Alice and Cole's relationship became very serious. Yes, they have had there many issues (cough cough those stupid wrong visions) but they are both strong characters and keep pushing through!

I must warn you that this book brings a lot of heartache. There were points that I needed to just set the book aside because it tore at my heart!

The wrap up to the White Rabbit Chronicles was by far my favorite, there was not a point in this series where I didn't feel some kind of excitement or really in depth emotion!
You know a book is the fricken bomb when you sit down and finish the book in 5 hours straight! I think the only time I truly got up to eat and use the bathroom...I was just too captivated to put it down!

We were left off in Alice in Zombieland with Alice and the defeat of the first huge battle with the zombies, along with the development of Alice and Cole's relationship. However, things are about to get darker for Alice not just in reality but in her own mind. Starting to see red eyes in the mirror and the urge to bite anyone that came near her; Alice is starting to come to fear her own self and start to fear for the safety of her new found family.

I truly enjoyed the development of Alice in the second installment of the White Rabbit Chronicles - Through the Zombie Glass. Everything that she was feeling - the anger, hurt, fear, hunger - you truly felt. The most prominent feelings that you start to notice is her devotion to Cole and their relationship. Of course, there is this deeper hunger that is starting to gnaw deep within her!

Although I never mentioned this in my last review, I will now. One of my favorite second characters within in this book is Kat, Alice's bestfriend. She truly made up this whole book. Kat was always supportive, strong, stubborn, and so flippin sarcastic. She became the perfect best friend for Alice, as Alice is more introverted; Kat is so much out going that one can't help but love her. I think what truly brought them together was Alice informing Kat in the previous book of what she was and what she fights for.

I think the most frustrating aspect of this book was Cole and Alice relationship...I won't say much but oh my flipping goodness WHY! Just why did you do this to mee!!!

As for the plot I could never be more pleased. It was sexy, badass, and downright sarcastic which is true to Gena Showalter's writing. The plot becomes so thick in Through the Zombie Glass that putting it down almost became impossible. I almost considered skipping dinner just so I did not have to set this precious, angering, frustrating, amazing book down. There are so many things revealed and introduced throughout the plot that I was never left unsatisfied.
Woowza does Gena Showalter know how to write a master piece! I honestly cannot believe I did not pick this book up sooner, I mean I wish I picked it up the moment it came out! What is wrong with me! Gena has written a compellingly mad story with twists and turns around every turn and I could not be more pleased with how it turned out!

I at first thought that this would be another retelling of Alice in Wonderland with some zombie twists and it was nothing of the sort. Which is perfectly okay with me, as I was not a fan of Alice in Wonderland. However, I did pick up on a few Alice in Wonderland traits such as: the white rabbit, the title of the book, and even the title of the chapters.

All Alice wanted was a normal birthday for one. She did not want to be locked up in the house like they usually were, she just wanted to give her sister something as a birthday gift for herself. However, what she did not know was the consequences of her decisions. Alice has lived with a deranged father for years - thinking he can see the monsters that lurk beyond the household - and she would like nothing more than to escape the strangeness. Heck, she is afraid to date anyone in fear that they would be embarrassed to be seen with her!

Alice, truly was everything a female protagonist should be! She was smart, she had a goal, and she wanted revenge. I loved every moment of hers. Alice was one of those characters were you could honestly picture her right in front of you and see every detail of the anatomy down to the last freckle. Alice's story is very compelling, she has been dealt a fatal blow and the only thing she wants now is to find out if she is crazy or not. If those monsters that her father has been so keen on destroying are actually real.

I guess that's where the hottie of the hottie's comes in - Cole Holland. I have never had such a big crush on the male protagonist since Damon Black from the Lux Series - as many of you know he is my bae. But Damon's competition is Cole! I mean Cole is a downright badass, with a sweet side? And of course there is this weird, abnormal, crazy connection that he and Alice share. I mean it is seriously weird, like supernatural weird.

The plot was immensely thought and planned out to the tea. I do not think there was anything missing. At the last page I was left satisfied and ready to continue on with the next adventure - Through the Zombie Glass. The sexiness, the charasmatics, and the drama is what drove me through this book! Of course then there is the zombie's that also drove me to the end. These zombies are not your original zombie's, I will warn you of this now.

If you have not picked up this book I suggest that you get your rotting zombie butts moving to the bookstore and pick up this badass adventure!!

At long last the daring conclusion to the Grisha Series has drawn near, and what a stellar series this was. I could not be more pleased with this series! It has already made it to my top series of 2015 that I have read! I finished this whole series in three days... 3 DAYS - that is how good this series was. Ruin and Rising was one wild ride after another full of mischief, power, and a sense of longing all which will drive you mad and want to continue the book late into the night.

I must say though, that the first two - Shadow and Bone and Siege and Storm - were by far my favorite. Not that this one was not any good, it was spectacular, it just felt off in a way. I enjoyed many aspects of Ruin and Rising, however there were some disappointing factors to this book as well.

Alina once again has escaped the clutches of the Darkling but with a cost - her power. She has lost the will to spread the light, and truly has no idea why. To top it off she is showing an inkling of the Darklings power.

Alina has grown to be a very powerful women throughout the Grisha Series, in a way I could never be more proud of her. Yet, at the same time, I feel much anger towards her and the decisions that she makes with the power that she has. It is like power calls to her, begging her to take more. Which you will see continue throughout the book, if you did not notice it in Siege and Storm. Of course, then there is her peculiar relationship with Nikclaus, the sexy prince/pirate. I must say that he became my most favorite character throughout the series and I almost wanted to say SCREW MAL pick Nikclaus.

Of course then there is her non-existent relationship with Mal, which was slightly disappointing; I just wanted them to smooch and get it done with but noooo they needed to constantly be fighting, ugh just my luck! Then you got the whole secret with Mal, that is an OMG moment! But I will let you figure that out for yourself!

As for the plot, I quite enjoyed the wrap up of this brilliant tale; however, I was a little peeved at how it ended. It was not the ending I truly expected, nor was it one that I truly enjoyed reading. It was kind of a morbid wrap up to such outstanding series. However, it was still a beautifully told plot and I could not believe the things that were revealed. I honestly believe there could be a spin off to this series, because there is so much information that still needs to be told!

All in all I suggest that you buy this book! It will sweep you off your feet and you will end this book wanting more, yet at the same time feeling content with the ending!

Ugh, just my luck to pick up a series that truly gets my heart going! If you have yet to pick up a book from Leigh Bardugo, specifically the Grisha Series, then where have you been! Her writing captures your heart and keeps it pounding until the very last page is turned!

At the end of Shadow and Bone, you are left with Mal and Alina escaping the Darkling with one of the amplifiers wrapped around her neck, although she is not as powerful as she can become, she is truly powerful. Of course, many thinking she has perished, have started calling her saint "Santa Alina."

I must say that Siege and Storm became my favorite at the end, while it had its many bumps and the main characters started to anger me; I could not help but love it!

The thing I loved the most was the character development with Alina. The further you get through the book, the more you start to see what true power can do to a person. You could almost see the obsession in her eye, the need to have more. Some people would be like are you kidding me! She is going crazy; however, I think they way Alina feels is very realistic. Maybe that's why I liked it so much - that what power can do to people can change them - which it shows through this book! I also loved how Alina becomes more of a women then a child and starts to take up more responsibility! It was truly an experience to go on her journey.

However, the one thing I did not enjoy was Alina and Mal's relationship. I thought, maybe, they would grow closer together now that they were finally together they would start to become more of a couple and say the big, "I love you!" I was sadly disappointed, in fact they grew further apart..although, I think Bardugo has something planned! We shall see!

I also have no complaints about the plot. It was always moving, always pushing forward to something new. The plot was so moving that finishing Siege and Storm felt like it only took a moment, rather than the three days it did take me to read the book. If you have not picked up this book, I suggest that you do! You will not regret it.

So I must say that I am quite proud of myself! Since I have come back from college just this last Thursday I have finished 2 books! 2 books in less than 3 days! That is an achievement I feel like my old self once again!

I had heard so much hype over Rebel Belle that I truly thought this was going to be a 5/5 star rating and sadly it is not, however, I enjoyed many aspects of this book. This is a book full of action, kick ass assassins, and a tale that makes you want to join a martial arts class!

I must say that at first I did not know if I truly liked the main character, Harper Price. Okay lies I fricken hated her guts. Harper Price is a perfectionist, a pain in the ass, a organized freak, and on every fricken comity that the school and the small town of Pine Grove runs! Taught about no life. I just had this strong hatred for her, maybe because at first it was her "I am better than you" attitude that she was throwing off or maybe because of the fact that she was just way too perfect in my eyes. However as the plot progressed and the story line thickened, I kind of liked her by the end of Rebel Belle.

I think one of the other big things I did not like about Harper was her dislike for her arch nemesis David, a boy that tends to write awful articles about her. Maybe that is why I loved David so much he is your classic journalist: sweaters, cool glasses, and pretty much no decent style. He was the opposite and yet the same as Harper. I wanted them together since the beginning, so to see there long progression of a relationship throughout Rebel Belle was definitely nerve wrecking.

I think the biggest thing that brought them together throughout the book was the fact Harper became the next Paladin, which is a guardian with kick ass abilities and one person to protect. I found it a little frustrating how Harper took the whole becoming a ninja thing, but It was necessary because how she acted would be how any one else would act in reality today: scared and just too much to take on. However, the close she gets to David, the more she can't help but take on the role as a Paladin.

Of course there is the issue with her boyfriend - Ryan - who I despise xD! But that is a rant for another time!

I found the plot to be quite exciting, that is if you love action around every corner, love to watch a girlfriend beat up her boyfriend, and like kick ass female protagonists - then yes this book is definitely for you! This book was action packed from the very first page, and in all honesty a book like this needed to be all action, which it was! I was very impressed with the writing style (as this is my first Rachel Hawkins book every)!

All in all I plan on continuing with the series and I am looking forward to continuing the adventures of David and Harper

HEY all!!

So this is a message from the lovely writer of this blog...me!!! I would just like to
say how sorry I am for the lack of posting, it has been so hard for me
to write posts, make videos for my booktube channel, do school homework,
and so forth. So I have decided I will only be posting book reviews
here and maybe monthly wrap ups but that is all so however long between
each book is when I will post a review!

I wish I could post every day on different things but I just physically can't anymore, and in a way I feel like a failure for not being able to keep up with my blog and my booktube channel on youtube :(. In a way I feel like I am failing you as well.

So like I said before I mostly will only be posting 2-3x a week with only book reviews, as this is why I started it to begin with! I won't be doing any memes or other things out of the norm! With summer now here I will be reading quite a bit so this also gives me time to figure out what I am going to do about next fall and how to keep my blog going!

Thanks for all your patience and love!!

...I have no complaints, for once in a book I have no complaints about the plot, the characters, the romance...nothing. Maybe I am biased because this is one of my favorite series and I love the world like no other, but in this case I am not entirely sure that is the case. Sarah J. Maas has woven a world full of magic, darkness that lurks around ever bend, and a suspense that keeps you pushing until that very last page draws near. In all honesty I wanted to put the book down the last 100 pages just because I did not want it to end.

In Adarlan and across the continent darkness is moving. Whispers of a nameless fear crosses peoples lips; seeing this dark foul creatures that will take your fears and turn them into your worst enemy. However, there may be a shining light, just yet, in this darkness - a girl by the name of Celaena. Sent across the ocean to keep her safe may have been the worst and best thing Chaol could ever do for her. If Celaena wants to make it out on top she will have to face her worst fears and her biggest threats.

First I would like to say if you are planning on reading Heir of Fire make sure you read Assassins Blade first. Some of the facts and the history in this book is tied to it, and it will make all that much more sense - as a lot of Celaena's past is uncovered in this book.

I could say what I usually say about the plots in my other reviews, but for some reason this one was different. I need to express myself more on the plot than I want to on the characters.

This plot was by no means revealing. Sarah J Maas did a very good job at only telling you bits and pieces here and there. Which was one of the many reasons this book kept me up late, in a crazed suspense wanting to know what happens next. I was never dissappointed with the outcome, never angry that something happened that I wish didn't because somehow it either fixed it self or I knew it would be fixed in the next book.

I feel as if the characters were connected to the plot in more than just a story kind of way. The plot was a constant background story, a history, into the lives of a majority of these characters - it was their heritage, their ancestory that was being told. I found that to be amazing to read.

Of course one cannot forget the constant emotions that the plot gave out. The anger, fear, frustration, fascination, and adoration in this twisted plot made it all that more real. Almost as if the characters and the storyline could jump off the pages and into reality. It was not an emotional roller coaster ride, no that does not even begin to describe what Heir of Fire brings out of people.

I don't even know what else to say except this: if you love high fantasy (elves, magic, etc), love action, and characters that will sweep your heart away from the moment you meet them. I suggest that you pick this book up.

If you have not read the series already...what is wrong with you XD! Just kidding but seriously pick this whole series up you will not regret it!

RECOMMENDATION: buy it (and the whole series if you have not already done so)

TBR CHALLENGE...

I know! I am posting two things in a day..I am impressed with myself, I promise guys I will try to get up posts every day, I am going to try to get up at least two! Also I have a question at the bottom of this post so please answer that!!

So my friends if most of you have not heard what TBR Challenge is then let me fill you with a vast amount of knowledge. TBR = To Be Read and what many people do is they make a TBR Jar where they write the books that are on their shelves that have not been read yet or want to reread, where they then role them up and put them in a mason jar.

So it's pretty much a DIY project:

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

- A mason Jar

- sheets of paper (it can be color coded by genres or types of books - etc)

- Markers

- Ribbon or String

What to do: Write all your books onto the paper, then role them up and put them into the mason jar! You can decorate your mason jar any way you want to! Simple as that! And when you finish a book and have no idea what to read next well then you go to your handy dandy TBR Jar!

onto the TBR Challenge stuff:

When I read I kinda go with the flow. So when I finish a book I really just pick the next book off my shelf. The only real time that I use my TBR Jar is when I am a really big reading slump. So what does that have to do with the TBR Challenge...really nothing. Except the challenge is to pretty much cut your TBR pile in half or to read certain books in the Year of 2015. The goal is also to not buy as many books.

If you are thinking of doing a major book haul that will not really help knock down your TBR ...this is what you do:

- give yourself a 1:3 ratio meaning - you may buy books for every 3 books that you read. Or if you really need to cut back on buying books to help your TBR challenge then what you do is just raise the books read to the one book you buy.

Honestly in the end do you not stress yourself out about how many books you have read in a month or in a year. Have fun with this and remember when you draw from your TBR Jar you must read the book that you draw!! No redrawing!

Insurgent

Movie Review!

Alright ladies and gents it's time for another movie review because I could not pass it up! I have come to like doing these movie reviews as it let's me express myself..about how much I still do not like books becoming movie adaptations..okay that is a lie I LOVE books becoming movies. Yet, like everyone else, I get upset at the things that are changed...that is why my friends you can never please a book addict when it comes to movie adaptations of books.

I will not lie and say that this movie was bad because it was far from it! I loved the action, the slight romance (that really did not show as much), the plot (that still was kinda not there), and all the drama that went with the book!

I love the actors Theo James (who is my bae) and Shailene Woodley. I will give the director credit for picking actors that fit the description of the Tris and Four. They both show the right emotions when it is needed and they both act perfectly together.

What bothered me the most was the huge changes they made from the book. The first movie - Divergent - had followed the book fairly well, to my belief any way. The Insurgent adaptation, while followed the main themes, did not really follow the book at all...ESPECIALLY THE ENDING. Which is all Im going to say about the ending. I just could not believe how many things changed. My sister in-law and I sat there and pretty much counted how many things were missing or put in place.

It was not small things missing but the large parts; it was the important aspects of the book that helps understand the next book - Alligiant.

However, in the end I still loved the movie.

RATING: 5.5/10

(according to the IMDB rating system)

p.s I am sorry for the bad blogging lately! Finals are once again around the corner and it so hard for to post or do videos at this moment in time :(

Many of you are probably really confused and think I am crazy for rating this really weirdly! That is because I truly could not choose between 3.5 or 4 out of 5 stars. There were so many things I love about this book and so many things that I really disliked. So why not be abnormal and change my rating around a little bit! I first must say that it took me a really long time to get into the setting of this book because of the fact I only kept thinking of a modern era and Mortal Instruments.

Now none of you know, I used to like Mortal Instruments but after the hype I just could not pick it up because I was tired of hearing about the book constantly! And I think that is why I rated this book so low. That and I could not stand the main female protagonist -- Tessa.

Tessa is sent a letter from her brother to move to the lovely city of London; where she will get a fresh start and start to heal. However upon arrival Tessa is kidnapped by the Dark Sister's and a power deep within her is unleashed -- the ability to shape-shift into any thing (human-beings mostly). And with this power came those that want the power for themselves - especially the mysterious Magister. Who will stop at nothing to make sure Tessa is his. She was finally able to escape the claws of the sister and she finds cover with the Shadowhunters of London.

I absolutely did not like Tessa at all; yes, she was a well developed character and she definitely had a lot going for her as a character but I did not like her personality at all. She is a whiny, needy, ridiculous, and downright annoying!! I understand she was kidnapped, was forced to use a power she no idea she had, but did she really have to be so ungrateful. These people take her in and all she does is complain -- I understand that her main priority is her brother -- but she was constantly thinking unrealistically!

Then of course her connection to Jem and Will is peculiar. She loves the safety of Jem but can't but help but be drawn into Will - someone who infuriates like no other. The one thing I did love was the antics between Will and Tessa it was definitely funny to read.

I definitely loved Will Herondale, out of all the characters he was my all time favorite. He was sexy, sarcastic, funny, and down right charming. Of course he was a player and got around; it was his secrets that made me want to read more about him! That is the one thing I can not wait to read more of is Will -- usually it's the main female character that drives me to read the next book but in this case it was not and I do look forward to reading more of the different characters!

I do not have much to say about Jem, except that he is adorable! Although I am definitely a team Will, I could not help but fall in love with Jem's sweet side. As he is the complete opposite of Will.

I loved the plot twists, most of the characters, and I especially loved seeing Magnus Bane once again! (as he is my Bae <3) I loved what Clare did with the depth of the plot, as I was not as big of a fan with Mortal Instruments. I must agree thought that Infernal Devices is so much better than the Mortal Instrument series and I look forward to continuing this series!

RECOMMENDATION: Borrow it! --- however I also recommend buy it!

It has been awhile since I have actually given a 5 out of 5 stars before and I am thinking the last one that I gave was to one of the Lux Series books (as they are the best series in the whole wide world). As many of you have noticed I have been MIA for quite some time and that was because I was in a huge reading slump! I mean huge so when I picked this book up at a Good Will's store well I decided to give it a shot!

Best decision of my life! I finished this 400 page book in about 3 hours! 3 HOURS! I have never devoured a book that fast! Jamie McGUIRE'S writing kept me going until the very last chapter. Beautiful Disaster is your sexy pick me up book on a gloomy day when there is nothing else to do but sit and curl up under a blanket!

Abby who just wants to run away from her past is happy to change who she is entirely. Entering into college and a new town is doing just the trick. That is until she has a run in with the college player - Travis Maddox - who no matter how hard she tries just cannot get her mind off him. So when she makes a bet with this sexy tattooed fighter, it might just dig up the past she wanted to bury deep into the ground.

I am not one to usually look at a plot and dissect it but I feel like this is needed to be done. All books have plot twists and curve balls being thrown at you. And while this book was predictable at some parts, there were pieces that even I missed until the very end. I found it intriguing how McGUIRE had created such a deep and dark plot line behind each character. I also found it very interesting to find that many of the plots combined and twisted together without much acknowledgement.

Abby was UGH!! I know my english, but seriously that girl is one frustrating character - but I absolutely lover her. Abby is your classic bad girl to good girl who just wants to leave behind the crappy past she had to put up with. I think the one reason why I really loved Abby was she never gave into Travis's charms, no matter how hard he tried. She may found him attractive but she was determined to not become his next notch in the bed post.

Travis Maddox - sexy as hell, tattooed, fighter, and by day perfect college student...well sort of. How could one not drool over such a yummy character. Although I rooted for Abby and her cunning skills to stay away from the player, I could not help but fall in love with Travis myself. He is the prime example of a bad boy with a sweet side and I just found him irresistible. He reminded me a lot of Daemon Black from the Lux Series.

I highly and I mean HIGHLY recommend this book. If you want a quick pick me up and a book that keeps your frustrations running high - I definitely suggest Beautiful Disaster! So get going to those book stores guys and pick up a copy!
While I would love to give 4.5 to 5 out of 5 ratings all the time, I can't...because that would be lying... and I don't lie (do you feel my smirk). I wanted to love this book so bad, but I simply could not. Unlike the the first book - The 5th Wave - I was not hooked. I felt like something is wrong with me for not liking this book. While the plot was good and the character development was there; I still felt like something was off or just missing.

I will try to explain my feelings on this book as best as I can...because there are a lot of feelings there to explain.

I would like to say that I loved the first cover so much better than this cover, maybe because it made sense. I am not really sure, it just seemed to fit. Maybe I am just crazy!

I guess when I started this book I was expecting more of Cassie and her brother, but I was sadly mistaken. Yes, Cassie was in the book but not as much as one would hope. I was not able to follow Cassie's character development as closely as I would have wanted to but I did get a few glimpses into her. She has definitely become a hard ass. She is more grumpier and I guess the proper word is mean then the first one. The one thing on her mind, that does soften her up a bit, is Evan. She refuses to leave anywhere until she is certain that he won't return - which does not sit well withher.

That is really all that you get of Cassie. Infinite Sea did a lot more jumping around then 5th Wave. I believe I counted 5 different point of views in this book rather than the first one. I am usually fine with this but the point of views did not really make sense until the end.

The new main character, as I would like to say, is Ringer. The strange girl that is in Ben's platoon. She is a girl willing to kill and will not make promises, as they are considered weak. Although I was upset with not seeing as much of Cassie as I would have wanted to, I found myself enjoying Ringer's story as well.

I wish I could say more on the positives of The Infinite Sea, but I simply can not. Do not get me wrong the plot was good, the characters did develop and become stronger more cohesive. I just could not get into like I did the first book. I really did not like the constant POV changes, especially when something big was going to happen. I was not to keen on Ben's POV either. I am hoping that the next book will be good though. Is that not how it works? The first book good, the second book meh, and the third book fricken amazing!

I RECOMMEND: Borrowing this book from a friend or going to your local library, and then maybe if you like it then buy it! (But that is my suggestion and you do not need to follow it!!!)
I wanted to share this to my Blog because not only do I talk about why I started Booktubing but I also explain why I started a Book Blog as well. I just want to warn a lot of you that my story is not the happiest as too my reason for escaping for books and I hope that my story will connect with you in some way. I will love to hear your comments at the bottom to hear why you started book blogging as well.

Where to Post Reviews and Unique Ways to Review a book!

When I started book blogging I always and I mean always posted my reviews on the provided links to social media. Which is a great way to start out but that was not going to spread the word about my blog and my book reviews/posts. While I still use the provided social media, as it is the first thing I post on, I have come to find many other places where I can post my reviews and link back to my blog. (This post applies to all categories of blogs)

(Each Social Media is linked to my account to not only give examples as to what I do but also if ya'll would like to follow them as well -- love you all! )

1. Twitter:

Although this is a provided link at the bottom of a post I still feel like I need to emphasis how important this one is! There are millions of people on Twitter and there is bound to be quite a lot of people in your niche! So please post on this and use hash-tags! Never forget the hash tags. I know it takes time to post on every social media, but if you want to grow then you will want to take the time!

2. Stumbleupon:

I had no idea that this existed but when I found this site out, I was using it left and right. StumbleUpon is pretty much a site where you can link your posts to and put in your hash tags and even put in your opinion and then when you push that little button named 'Stumble' quite a few people will definitely stumble upon it and click the link to your post.

3. Instagram:

I know weird that I am saying this one, but no one really thinks about posting their reviews to their Instagram account. I always see people take a picture of the book and then in the text area put in a little of what they thought and the rate. Then they also say that the link to the review is in the bio! Which all you need to do is change the website link every time you post something new! I do this for both my videos and my blog posts.

4. Tumblr:

Another place that I post my reviews and link them back to my blog is Tumblr. It is pretty much the same thing as Blogger except Tumblr is unique in its own way. There is a place for tags and putting popular tags definitely helps with getting more views and links!

5. GoodReads

Another great place to place your reviews and link to your blog is through GoodReads. I absolutely love GoodReads. Not only can you place your reviews and leave your link but you can also add all the books you want to read, the books you have read, and create shelves. I love love love this site.

I know these sites might seem like 'duh' Kat we already knew about this. When I started booktubing I had no idea about these sites Instagram I did, but I had no idea that these sites would help me get viewers and followers.

Now you are probably wondering about my second part of this bookish talks episode. I am always trying to find unique ways to do reviews as doing the same thing all the time gets kind of boring! So here are a few ideas that I have thought and have seen others do.

VIDEO REVIEWS: Since I am on Youtube I have come to love talking about my reviews through video and then posting it on youtube. I know this is not for everyone but those of you that are not shy you will definitely like this!

There are other things in video reviews that you can do:

- You can act out parts that you loved

- Create a skit

- Just rant about the book

- You can create a animoto or animated video (I have seen quite a few of these -- one was on Vampire Academy)

- If you have seen Draw My Life (on youtube or anywhere else) then instead you can do Draw the Review or Draw (Book Name). I have really wanted to do this and it sounds like a lot of fun.

DRAW THE REVIEWS: If you are an artist you can draw your reviews and then take pictures of the drawings -- procede to post them on your blog. Not only is this creative but it is really unique as I have never seen anything like this!

What are some unique ways to review books that you guys know of? Are there any that you want to try?

Where do you post your reviews to?

P.S Put your twitter, instagram, youtube channel etc. below so I can also follow you as well!

I have officially classified this month as Dystopian Month by my own terms! Because the last 3 books I have read are all dystopian...although The 5th Wave is already at the top of my list of Dystopian books for the month! With such a thriller that kept me turning the pages until the very end, no wonder I finished it in less than 3 days.

The aliens have finally decided that Earth is their place to be; watching and waiting for years just for the right moment. Each wave is something different. The first wave- lights out. The second wave - a land "wave." The third wave - the plague. The fourth wave - the intrusion. The 5th wave - has yet to come. Each wave took the population of earth and grinded it to pulp; leaving no one untouched.

Cassie - Cassiopeia - Sullivan has been to hell and back...literally. She has lost her friends, her highschool crush, her parents each from a different wave. The only thing pushing her through the broken lands of the once great United States is her promise to her little brother. I loved and when I mean love, I mean LOVE Cassie. I first I really could not connect to her; I think because I could not really put myself in her situation, since I never really thought what I would do. But I could not help but connect with her emotions. They were so strong it was almost as if she was yelling them through the book.

I must say that I found Cassie's mind to be very...peculiar, messed up, crazy - you name it. Through the death, the blood, and the invasion her humor has become dark and morbid. In a way I could not help but laugh because she took the most depressing situation and lightened the tension. Cassie is a strong, independent, stubborn character. Although she was never this way, no one was. I think the greatest thing that Rick Yancy did in this book was show the old Cassie and then the new Cassie - if he didn't then you would have thought she was a natural born killer.

The 5th Wave, although amazing, took me a few chapters to catch on to what was going on. Yancy, I personally think, that he has a unique writing style one that takes a few pages to decipher and understand. Yet once I caught on I flew through this book, devouring each page after another.

I can never truly explain this book without taking up pages and pages worth just to get out the main idea. Some have come up to me saying "the end to this book is so predictable." I will have to disagree with them because this book is far from predictable...I was shocked with the ending! I honestly could not predict 10 pages from the page I was currently on.

The plot gave me feels! I mean it truly gave me more feels than I wanted! I was just so frustrated in such a good way. With the need to find out the 5th wave I could not help but just devour this book. As each page turned the plot just got deeper and deeper. I could not imagine what I would do if aliens tried to take earth...probably run like a chicken and hide in the mountains like the people in this book did!

I can not wait to continue The 5th Wave series and continue onto Infinite Sea! If you love adventure, aliens, bad ass characters, and anything that is dystopian - you will devour this book just as I did!

My recommendation: BUY THE BOOK!!! It is too good to pass up! I have heard so many great things about this series. I had never heard of this series until I came across it in GoodReads as it was one of my recommendations. Once I read the synopsis I was hooked and I can not wait to get my hands on these books soon, hopefully!
I had found the title very intriguing and the cover is just gorgeous, but after I read the synopsis on good reads I knew that this book had to find its way to my shelf very very soon
People who get arrested usually don't come back.

Seventeen-year-old
Ember Miller is old enough to remember that things weren't always this
way. Living with her rebellious single mother, it's hard for her to

States used to be different.

Ember has perfected the art of
keeping a low profile. She knows how to get the things she needs, like
food stamps and hand-me-down clothes, and how to pass the random home

circumstances allow.

That is, until her mother is arrested for

It has seemed that these past few weeks have all been about post apocolypitic worlds and post war books. I have just picked up 5th wave and before that was Darkness Before Dawn - a vampire war novel. I am starting to notice a theme...should I be worried. Article 5, out of any of these post war/apocalyptic novels, connected with me the most. Maybe it was because it seemed like it could actual happen.

The United States was turned against by not only their allies but their enemies as well...blown to bits laws needed to be changed, rules needed to be set, complete rule needed to be added. Getting rid of the Bill of Rights and Constitution was only the first step in taking away individual freedom. The next step, placing the Articles. The Articles in which if they were disobeyed meant sever punishment.

All Ember wanted was to pass the random house evaluations and make it through her senior year of high school, like any other child in the district. But that all changes when at her door stands the FBR soldiers waiting to arrest her mother and herself for breaking Article 5. If being torn from her only parent was bad enough, then being arrested by the love of her life, her best friend was just putting another hole in her heart.

At first I really did not like Ember, she was reckless when made decisions and her trust for people was too great. After being arrested Ember manages to escape the girls "boarding school," with the help of an unlikely ally. I feel this is where Ember's common sense goes out the door. It was not who she placed her trust in but how used that trust. Yet my dislike for her soon faded as her real struggles started to come to the surface.

Which then I started to see the real Ember : the strong, the confident, and the revengeful. I loved following her story as she was on the run from the FBR soldiers along with her heart. One of the many reasons I love this book is you get to see Ember evolve from this naive girl to this strong female that is ready to take on anything -- well almost anything, she still feels fear. As her biggest concern is finding her mother.

As for the romance...you will have to read and found that out! I know you are like Kat you always tell us the romance..I KNOW!! Haha sorry guys not this time.

While I did like the plot and where the plot is going I still felt like it needed a little bit more. But not by much! I loved how I was constantly on my toes wondering what the next page will bring, usually books like this are very predictable this book was not. There were parts that blew past me and I'm like what just happened!

I definitely recommend getting this book...I feel like it is a more ebook buy than a hard cover buy and while I gave it a 4/5 stars I feel as if it a borrow type of book as well!!!

I still recommend reading this book!

Should Young Adult books still be called Young Adult?

So many of you are probably wondering what the heck this post is even about, yes the title is very confusing but it was really the only way I could even describe this post! After reading many young adult books, seeing quite a few videos on them, and so on I have come to a conclusion that Young Adult books are getting darker, sexier (dare I say ;), and more detailed. You are probably like well yah, I already know this!!

Because Young Adult books are entering this new dark era should they still be considered or more so called Young Adult. I personally do not think so. I feel like Young Adult books fall from the age of 12-17 rather than 18-25. I also think Young Adult books are much more clean, not as detailed when it comes to certain things, and especially not sexy. So what do we call these new era of books.

Personally I have no clue. What I do know is that the age range is around 18-30 years of age, I also know that it will be containing graphic content, sexual ideas, and be way more dark than a Young Adult would be. Should it be called New Age Young Adult or Late Young Adult? Who knows but I personally think that there should be two sections at books stores one for Young Adult and the other for those that are between Young adult and Adult!

So what are your guys thoughts? Am I just being weird about this?
